Originally a grandee's summer home on the banks of the Pasig River , Malacanang Palace became the residence of the Spanish governor-general in 1863 when an earthquake devastated the Palacio del Gobernador (Governor's Palace) in Intramuros . From then on it has served as the official residence of the country's heads of government, passing on to the Presidents of the Philippines with the gaining of independence. The original 19th-century building was an edifice of singular architectural merit, but that has been all but lost in the many alterations that took place over some 150 years.
I learned that Casa Roces, the new resto and events place, has a tie-up with Malacanang for a tour of the Malacanang Museum. They say the package covers all fees and even includes a set meal and a souvenir. Sounds good, right? Here's the number, just in case you're interested-- 7355896.
Pres. Aquino I am sure you have read NAIA is # 1 top worst airport in the world as it was name in memory of your father's name, I hope you can do something to improve this embarrassment under your administration. Those past President they don't care about our country reputation, no matter what happen, what they care more graft and corruption to ruin the image of our country, everything get WORST nothing is clean and honest in the government system, most of them are crooks, like Sen. Lacson involve in a serious criminal case, how come he is free, wondering why he has chain of Supermarket in California but since he was link to Dacer case, just last year most California residents surprised, sold to a chinese businessman to avoid his hidden secret wealth from graft and corruption, why not investigate the matter for sure from reliable source, only God knows, in my heart Mancao was force to do it because of threat to his family life, God knows he is honest the way I feel it, he has a good heart. The truth I strongly believe through your honest administration, don't trust anyone no matter how rich they are, friends or relatives, who will stab you at the back, like what happen to your father as what God told me, be careful, I like you why I am fighting my right to defend you, I am upset, blaming everything it's your faults but it's not. I am very thankful that you ignore them, why they didn't blame the past President why now only, ARE THE PEOPLE CRAZY OR KNOTS, OUT OF THEIR MIND, I felt sorry for them. I know a lot to the entire world but I better not, what concerns me is your administration I don't want to hear not pleasing to my ear it breaks my heart. Don't worry GOD will protect and guide you whatever you do and wherever you go, just be careful and alert at all times. It's Gods will why I am writing to you with great concern, just to warn you not to trust friends; remember enemies are close by. Blessed Virgin Mary and Blessed Jesus Christ will guide you at all times I believe in KARMA all sins committed will be paid for or what goes around comes around.
The various rooms house historical items from different administrations. There is quite a bit of Americana dispersed throughout, due to various famous Americans stationed in Manila during their military service. You need 7 days advance notice AND confirmation to be allowed to tour, accompanied by a resident guide. Security is tight since you are visiting apractically the Philippine equivalent of the American White House.
A must see place also around manila, u can see the collections of the former former first lady Imelda marcos and a nice building that offers history. Ideal to take your children and also for school field trip plan.
I had a chance to visit this palace of the president of the Philippines. I came here back in 1997-1998. I can remember how beautiful it was. The tour back then stretch around the iron fence. It was so long of a wait but it was so worth it. To see the huge diamond of Imelda Marcos and the shoes that she owned. OMG, it considered a mortal sin. The greed that spent on themselves. LOL. I'm not sure if they do anymore tours but if you get a chance and see that there is one, you must go and see it. WOW.
